The comedian

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
